Design, Engineering, Steel Fabrication & CNC Machining of a Self Powered Battery Rail Tractor
McCorkle Machine & Engineering has the expertise and skilled professionals to build almost any kind of mechanical equipment. When we were approached to build a battery-powered tractor for a customer in the roll milling industry, we knew that we could exceed their expectations. Our in house engineering staff created the tractor's design and our machining experts built the tractor. Fabrication utilized CNC milling and turning of A-36 plate steel to form the body, the axles and wheels from machined from 4140 steel. The team also designed and fabricated the electrics and the drive train. The tractor was completed with a thorough cleaning and painting, meeting all applicable industry standards. We produced two battery tractors that were 8' long, 48" wide and weighed 2,500 lb.
This tractor was not a standard project for us and we completed each tractor in 6 weeks ARO to the complete satisfaction of our customer. More details on this design and CNC machining project can be found in the following table or contact us today.
